Вот уже второй год Царскосельская янтарная мастерская принимает участие в программе Друзья Петербурга, которая проходит под патронажем компании ПАО "ГАЗПРОМ". Обширная и разносторонняя программа Друзей Петербурга дает возможность петербуржцам и гостям города принять участие в различных мероприятиях, посетить те объекты, которые обычно закрыты для посторонних. Вот и в этот раз участникам программы удалось попасть в нашу мастерскую, пообщаться с реставраторами и самим попробовать себя в роли мастеров по гипсу и живописи, а самое главное - унести свои ценные работы с собой, на долгую память. 

Царскосельская янтарная мастерская впервые приняла участие в семейном празднике "Яблочный полдень", который вот уже более 10 лет проводит ГМЗ "Царское Село". Местом встречи вновь стал оранжерейный комплекс «Верхние теплицы» в Александровском парке — в обычное время этот комплекс закрыт для посещения. Большой семейный праздник посетители ждут и любят за особую атмосферу и гармоничность. 

Царскосельская янтарная мастерская создаёт серию интервью с реставраторами, занятыми в проекте воссоздания и реставрации Личных покоев Екатерины II в Зубовском флигеле Екатерининского дворца, для ознакомления с работой, а также с целью помочь в вопросе профориентации молодым талантам, рассматривающим для себя реставрацию как будущую профессию и призвание. With the Chinese New Year soon approaching, we would like to share a new addition to our stone miniatures collection. The "Chinese merchant" figurine was inpires by the Chinese culture of the great Qing dynasty. The merchant is wearing traditional Qing clothing, is also holding a wine bottle with the word "Wisdom"/智慧 written on it and is reading a book called "避暑山庄记".

The Icon of the Savior Almighty was presented as a gift to Pope Francis. The icon was made by art restorers of the amber workshop from natural Baltic amber in graphics that correspond to all the canons of the Russian Orthodox Church. We sincerely hope that this gift will become another confirmation of the unity of faith - this is extremely important in the modern world.

09/29/2021 in Tsarskoe Selo, representatives of the press, as well as students of specialized restoration schools, were shown how the work on the reconstruction and restoration of the Personal Chambers of Empress Catherine II in the Zubovsky wing of the Catherine Palace is proceeding.

The Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop cordially congratulates the colleagues from the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Reserve on such a grand, long-awaited and joyful event - the opening of the Alexander Palace. On August 13, 2021, after restoration, the first 13 interiors of this landmark in our history architectural monument were opened - the personal apartments of Emperor Nicholas II and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna. From August 14, 2021, the palace reopens its doors to visitors.

The exhibition "Secrets of Palace Interiors, Secrets of Restoration", which has been held since November 2020 in the Engineering House of the Peter and Paul Fortress, ended on May 11. We would like to thank our colleagues from the Museum of the History of Russia for the warm welcome, as well as all the visitors who are interested in our exposition and leave feedback.

The official opening of the Lyon Hall took place on 23 April. All work on its restoration and reconstruction has been completed. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova. Visitors to the Catherine Palace will be able to see the revived Lyon Hall from May 1, 2021.

A press tour of the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop exhibition "Secrets of palace interiors. Secrets of restoration" was held in the Engineering House of the Peter and Paul Fortress. The exposition, which occupies 6 rooms, presents more than 100 exhibits that tell about restoration as a profession and about the results of the work of Tsarskoye Selo masters over 40 years of work in the service of Russian culture.

Director of the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop Boris Pavlovich Igdalov, deputy director Grigoriev Maxim Ivanovich, chief architect Yarotskaya Irina Vasilievna answered numerous questions from journalists. We sincerely hope that the exhibition will attract all connoisseurs of art, because restoration is an integral part of it, however, unlike exhibits and interiors, the process itself is often hidden from visitors.

Today, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Nikolayevich Chernyshenko and the head of Gazprom Miller Alexey Borisovich were shown how the restoration of the halls of the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo, which is being carried out by the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop, is proceeding.
The gas holding company finances this charitable program, as well as the training of young restorers - in the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop, restorers conducted a modeling master class for participants in the Friends of St. Petersburg program.

The Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop is restoring 13 icons from the collection of the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum of Fine Arts. The icons of the 19th century amaze with the relief of the salaries, the complexity of the minting and the subtlety of the work. Some frames are decorated with small river pearls, gilded and silver-plated fabrics with embroidery, velvet. Icon settings are deformed, dirty, severe abrasions, scratches and dirt are observed. Now the artist-restorer of the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop Antonina Evgenievna Blokhina is working on them.

Representatives of the press visited the private chambers of Catherine II in the Zubovsky wing and learned about the progress of work on the reconstruction of these unique interiors.

Media representatives were told what has already been done and what restorers and architects are currently working on in the Zubovsky wing of the Catherine Palace. The reconstruction of eight interiors of the 18th century - the empress's private rooms - became possible thanks to the financial support of the Gazprom company.

The Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop carries out comprehensive work to recreate the artistic decoration of 5 rooms that were part of the personal chambers of Catherine II. Masterpieces of the era of classicism - these interiors, located in the Zubovsky wing of the Catherine Palace, were created according to the project of C. Cameron and G. Quarenghi. When finishing them, materials of exceptional value were used - natural stone, silver, colored and engraved glass, biscuit porcelain, painting, bronze, parquet flooring.

From July 03, 2020 the Moscow Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts and our exhibition "Secrets of Restoration. Amber Room and Other Projects" will resume work. Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the museum, a regime of visiting the exhibition is established by sessions. We are waiting for Muscovites and guests of the city at our exposition.

In connection with the extension of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, we decided to brighten up the time of self-isolation for those who are interested in history, restoration, and amber. Two films were posted on the channel of the Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop on YouTube: the first was dedicated to the restoration of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Tsarskoye Selo. The film is almost 30 minutes long, is available in good quality and tells in detail both the history of the temple and its restoration. The voiceover text is read by the People's Artist of the Russian Federation N.V. Burov. The second film is entirely devoted to the theme of amber and the Amber Room. The Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop, together with the Tsarskoye Selo restoration workshop, opened its first exposition in Moscow, at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts. The exhibition presents more than 100 unique exhibits that have never been exhibited in the capital before.

In the beginning there was the Amber Room, the eighth wonder of the world - an interior that paved the way from dream to reality, from mistakes to perfection, from lack of experience to knowledge. After - the Agate Rooms, the Lyon Hall, the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and much more.

Items from the Naryshkin hoard are being restored at the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop. Unique works of art, found in the secret room of the Naryshkins' mansion back in 2012, are planned to be exhibited in Tsarkoye Selo after the completion of the restoration. Recall that the Naryshkin treasure is the largest and most expensive in the history of St. Petersburg and has more than 2,000 items.

The Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop took part in the restoration of the organ for the A.A. Akhmatova Tsarskoye Selo gymnasium. A monument to organ building and musical culture of the 19th century, the organ "Sauer Orgel Opus 432" was made in 1884 in Frankfurt an der Oder by the German company Wilhelm Sauer.

Boris Pavlovich Igdalov made a scientific report at the XIII International Petrovsky Congress in Berlin. The congress was dedicated to the theme “Russia and Germany in the era of Peter the Great: historical and cultural ties”. The congress was held on October 24-25, 2019 at the Russian House of Science and Culture.

The Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop has completed work on two amber icons - the Holy Prince Vladimir and the Nativity of Christ. The icons are made of natural Baltic amber.

In August 2019, the Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop began to recreate the fireplaces of the Lyon Hall, lost during the Second World War. The project, which began several years ago, continued with new tasks - two fireplaces, frames for balcony doors, mirrors with under-mirror tables made of lapis lazuli and bronze will be recreated.

The Tsarskoye Selo Amber Workshop has completed restoration works in the Lyons Hall of the Catherine Palace. Today, for the first time since the restoration, the hall has opened to the press and officials. The Lyons Hall will soon be available to the general public.

In the Tsarskoye Selo amber workshop, the fireplace screen from the Lyon Hall is being restored. The fireplace was created according to the drawing of the architect I.A. Monighetti in the 1860s. from Bukhara lapis lazuli, with gilded bronze cap trim and Lyon silk insert.

The opening ceremony of the palace church took place on April 12 at the Catherine Palace. With the financial support of PJSC "GAZPROM", the most complex large-scale restoration of an architectural masterpiece of the 18th century became possible. Now the luxurious interior of the great Rastrelli is available for general visits.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, together with permanent members of the Security Council, visited the restored Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Tsarskoye Selo.

Several new items have been added to the "Stone Plastic" section - jasper and jade vases, a clock and a "Magician" figurine. Each of the items is unique and deserves special attention. New items have been added to the "Creative Works" section - decorative panels "City Landscape" and "Savior on Spilled Blood", made of natural Baltic amber using flat-set technique.

The art restorer at the Tsarskoselskaya amber workshop, Konstantin Ivanov, gave an interview to the "Addresses of St. Petersburg" magazine, where he spoke about the work of the restorer and current projects. Art restorers of the Tsarskoselskaya Amber Workshop took part in one of the main exhibition projects of the autumn - the Museum and Theater Exposition "Keep forever." The exhibition space has united the history of four museums-reserves: Pavlovsk Museum-Preserve, Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Preserve, Gatchina Museum-Preserve, and Peterhof Museum-Preserve.

The restoration element of the Tsarskoselskaya amber workshop received an element of the Dragon Bridge decor from Alexandrovsky Park - a cast-iron dragon sculpture. At the end of the XVIII century, this bridge, designed by Charles Cameron, was called the bridge "with monstrous figures."

The Tsarskoselskaya Amber Workshop began the restoration of objects from the “Armour” funds at the Tsarskoye Selo Museum. The restoration received 15 items: among them daggers, axes, maces, bayonets, swords, sabers and scabbards to them.

The marble fountain was inaugurated today in the Private Garden of the Catherine park after the restoration, which lasted more than eighteen months. The jets of water shot upwards to the music of Tchaikovsky and Bellini. The last time this monument of architecture, made of Carrara marble in the XIX century, functioned was thirty years ago.
